This page explains how to delete your account for PELAV, the app provided by Continuum Dataguard Technologies, and what happens to your data.
Delete in the app
1. Open PELAV and sign in. 2. Go to Profile. 3. Tap Delete Account, read the confirmation, then tap Delete My Account.
If PELAV is asking you to accept updated Terms, you do not need to accept them first: tap Don't agree? Delete my account on that screen.
Delete without the app
If you cannot use the app, email admin@continuumdataguardtech.co.za from the email address of your PELAV account with the subject "Delete my PELAV account". We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and then delete the account as soon as reasonably possible.
What is deleted
On our servers, permanently:
- your account and sign-in details
- your profile
- your catches and fishing sessions (deleted together, in one step)
- your legal-acceptance records
- your refresh counters
- your access records (any trial, subscription or complimentary-access records our server holds for your account)
On the device you delete from, after the server deletion succeeds: the Licence Vault document and details stored for your account. If this does not complete, uninstalling the app removes them.
What is kept
- Authentication audit-log entries about account events (which include your email address): kept for up to 90 days.
- Disaster-recovery backups: encrypted, offline backups made before your deletion can still contain your data until they are replaced or destroyed. Each backup is kept for up to 90 days. Automatic backups kept by our database provider, Supabase, can also contain your data for the period its plan sets (Supabase publishes periods of up to 30 days).
- Crash reports already sent to Firebase Crashlytics, which do not contain your email address or account identifier, are kept by Google, which states that it keeps them for 90 days before starting to remove them.
- Provider logs: Open-Meteo states that its web-server logs are kept for 90 days.
